Squads The wrestling team will be divided into two squads, "A" and "B". Each wrestler will be placed into one of these two squads based on age and wrestling experience. The general rule for "A" squad selection will be that the wrestler must be at least 9 years old and have at least two years of experience. All other wrestlers will be placed on the "B" squad. The coaches will monitor and evaluate the wrestlers throughout the season and attempt to place the wrestlers on the squad that will best benefit the wrestler.

Wrestle-Offs Wrestlers in a given weight class will wrestle each other to determine the best wrestler in that weight class. Wrestle-offs can occur on a regular basis, periodically, or not at all depending on the number and skill of the wrestlers within a weight class.
Matches/Tournaments Team matches consist of an individual wresling match at each weight class. The day of a team match or the night before a tournament, each wrestler is required to "weigh-in" to determine which weight class he is eligible to wrestle in. The coach will select the line up based on the wrestler's weight, practice/work ethic, ability, wrestle-off results, and what is best for the team. There is only one wrestler per weight class for team matches. There may be more than one wrestler per weight class for tournaments. On the eve before a match or tournament, the coach will announce the wrestlers who MUST attend the following day's event. However, the final lineup is not generated until immediately prior to the event, so your child may or may not wrestle.
Exhibition Matches At the conclusion of or during a team match, the coaches will attempt to set up some individual exhibition matches for those wrestlers who do not get to participate in the team match. Typically, the coaches will not know if your child will wrestle an exhibition match until the day of the team match. Whether your child is wrestling or not, we encourage your child to come to all matches to support the team and to gain knowledge about the sport.
Equipment Headgear is required. Wrestling shoes are preferred, but not mandatory. Uniforms will be provided, but must be returned at the end of the wrestling season.
Sportsmanship & Team Ethics We will work hard together as a team because wrestling is a team sport. We will have respect and concern for our teammates and opponents. We will show grace and dignity in both victory and defeat. We will not use profanity. We will try our hardest to be the best athletes we can be. We will have fun!
